Boy's bushwalk!!!

The little guy at the town named after him!

Big drive in the car that day after a big bush walk with dad the previous day - Dad reckons it was 10km's....

Boys had a great trip to the mid north of SA - staying at Melrose.  The trip included the Pichi Richi Railway ride - which, naturally, was a hit with the little guy!

Big weekend for the Hoskies!

We will be very proud on Sunday, when hubby's son goal umpires his first AFL game.

He has been in training for the last 10 years ! (he started in the schools/local league when he was still at school himself)

Its not as easy as it looks either - they still have to pass fitness/running tests and there is a lot of pre-season work and a bit of personal sacrifice to fit in the training schedules.  An example is only being able to have holidays in the off-season (with university comittments this means December/January)

So while hubby and his uncle will be going to the gam, the kids and I will be cheering (for the umpire not Port) at home.   Having said that Lauren will probably be barracking for Port - just to piss the rest of us off!

Speaking of the littlest Hosky - she is off to Auskick tomorrow too - maybe one day she will play in the chicks league!

The little guy insisted on this train cake, despite my gentle reminder he might be too old for it at 8 - but as he pointed out "When we went to the Model Train Expo the men were still playing with trains!

How could I argue with that !

Now hubby wont be too happy with my choice of photos here - this is one of the team trophies and hubby's celebratory scotches at the presentation night...

He was fishing the bi-annual Australian Angling Association National Championships which was held here in SA this year on the Copper Coast.

Hubby started off not so good at the Casting Events, but things picked up and he won the Beach & Rock Championship, then the Mens Angling Champion and Convention Champion titles - and totally shocked himself (I was caught out too - had to make a mad dash over to Wallaroo for the presentation night as we didnt know until 11am that day)

It was close scoring, with a Copper Coast local (and fellow team-mate taking out the Champion of Champions, which will give hubby something to go for next time!!!

So along with a heap of trophies (that luckily get passed on in 2 years time) there is also some fantastic prizes, donated by the sponsors -  BBQ, Power Tools, Rod, Reels and a really nice reel bag that I could convert nicely to a laptop bag!

The SA team won the Warnambool Trophy, with the interstaters picking up their fair share of awards along the way too.  There was more than 200 people from around Australia and even New Zealand.  The next Championship is in NSW in two years time.

Now the cleanup begins - after 3 weeks of fishing - he just found a dead toad fish in the bilge!!  Charming Champ !!!!

The chances of Autism is 1 in 150-I have worked with maybe 50 women over the last 20 years 3 have sons on the spectrum...3 also have battled breast cancer...Maybe the "odds" arent quite right !
